It’s the perfect kind of shabby-chic escape that is needed in a beach getaway, coupled with modern amenities that I simply cannot live without, such as free wireless internet and insanely indulgent soft sheets. The interior of Brass Lantern Inn is equally as gorgeous as its garden, matching the historic ambiance with casually elegant decor. Lady typically spent this time enjoying her favorite activity - bird watching. Joel tends to be a late sleeper, so Lady and I would take this time for ourselves, although she usually found a four-legged friend to play with during breakfast.Įven better than the breakfast at Brass Lantern Inn is the afternoon snack….įresh out-of-the-oven chocolate, oatmeal and sugar cookies, served with hot and iced tea.Īt 5 pm every day, we would take our tea and warm cookies, grab a book, and lounge in the shady garden after a long day at the beach. ![]() The best part is enjoying it in the Inn’s idyllic, tranquil garden. Whether you’re in the mood for fruit, bagels, scones, muffins, jam, juice, coffee, tea, it’s all served hot and fresh! Several beaches are also within walking distance and the shuttle stop around the corner will take you around the island to some of the more remote beaches like Sconset, Madaket and Surfside.Īs its name indicates, the Brass Lantern Inn B&B serves a great breakfast that exceeds the basics one associates with these types of accommodations. Located just three blocks from all the cute main street shops and restaurants, Brass Lantern Inn shares a picturesque block with equally enchanting historic homes. That’s right - Brass Lantern Inn is one of the few pet-friendly B&B’s on the island, offering furry children comfy dog beds and adorable food bowls to ensure they feel right at home. Upon arrival, you are greeted by Michelle, the proprietor, or one of her very attentive staff, who help get you set up with everything you and your pup could possibly need to navigate Nantucket. ![]() Therefore, when the Brass Lantern Inn invited Joel and I to stay at their Nantucket Bed & Breakfast, we jumped at the opportunity.īrass Lantern Inn was built in the late 1840’s and is everything a B&B should be and more: authentic charm exudes all the way from the shabby gray shingles to the uniquely appointed historic rooms that are named after Nantucket whaling ships from that time period, as well as flowers in the Inn’s garden - seventeen in total. And while it makes no sense for two people to rent a beach house, staying at a hotel doesn’t seem right, either. Growing up spending summers in Bethany Beach, Delaware, I’m of the belief that a beach getaway should be as “homey” as possible. It’s a well known fact that accommodations can either make or break a vacation. Never-Ending Charm: Brass Lantern Inn, Nantucket ![]() As seen when she fought as Rose Quartz she was courageous, fighting on the front lines of the war which unfortunately caused heated arguments between her and Pearl. Her growing love for the life on Earth and efforts to save it from the other Diamonds seemingly matured her, even fighting against Homeworld and gathering the Crystal Gems. She had a bright, positive and adventurous personality that wanted nothing more than to explore and have fun with her fellow Gems. Pink Diamond evidently appeared to be bubbly and over-friendly, possessing a worldview much like that of her human son Steven's. You're allowed and expected to invent who you are! What an incredible power! The ability to grow up. But you, you're suppose to change! You're never the same, even moment to moment. They burst out of the ground already knowing what they're supposed to be and then that's what they are, forever. ![]() Her outfit resembled a ballet dancer and harlequin.Īfter being poofed by Pearl during the climax of the Rebellion, Pink Diamond chose to reform as her rebel alias, permanently adopting the name and identity "Rose Quartz." This was the only time Pink Diamond regenerated with a different form. Her shoes were pink ballet slippers with floating white pom poms. Her half-skirt was also pink-and-white atop cerise un-paned breeches with white pantyhose. She had pink-and-white puffy sleeves and wore elbow-length cerise gloves. Pink Diamond wore a cerise half-skirted leotard that displayed her midriff and gem in a pentagon-shaped opening. Her physical form's projection was significantly smaller than the other Diamonds but she still towered over lower-ranking Gems. Her gemstone was located on her torso where a human navel would be and appeared in the shape of a convex pentagon (being an inverted-side view of a round-cut diamond). Her lips were accentuated with hot-pink that emulated lipstick. Her hair was styled in a voluminous, fluffy bob around her face. Always remember to add a little bit more wax if the pen seems like it doesn’t pick up the diamonds anymore.Pink Diamond had bubblegum pink skin, deep pink eyes with diamond-shaped pupils, and pale pink hair. Once picked up, carefully press the diamond onto its corresponding symbol on the canvas. ![]()
